Welcome to the art of Sarah Katherine Woolley
Sarah, a native Oregonian, has been an artist for most of her remembered life. She most notably recalls her artist-for-a-mother teaching her to draw at age five. Since then, she has attended numerous art classes throughout her life in drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, and more. Sarah has a passion to help tell the stories of the disadvantaged, from all parts of the world, in word and art. She discovered this in 2007 when she spent the year in a Christian apprenticeship ministry called NieuCommunities in Pretoria, South Africa (NCSA). By the end of her apprenticeship it had become clear that God was calling her to make a deeper commitment to following Him by choosing an inherently missional lifestyle and joining the NieuCommunities staff. This decision marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life. After a year and a half of this journey on staff with NieuCommunities, Sarah is once again at a crossroads as she allows God to further clarify her calling, be it continued work with NCSA or elsewhere. This artwork is representative of the time when she was on the brink of this new missional journey. Browse the site at your leisure and be on the lookout for future artworks.
